After several months in technical preview stage, Microsoft has finally updated its second version of Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) from beta status to the final version. Microsoft Security Essentials is a free anti-virus and anti-spyware solution that protects against various types of malware such as viruses, spyware, rootkits and Trojans offering supplies to consumers and businesses at home.
This amount is released features and enhancements, including heuristic scanning engine, Network Intrusion Detection, built-in Windows firewall management, etc., to improve the security of computers included.
Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) v2 includes:
- Network inspection system – Protection against network-based exploits is now built in to Microsoft Security Essentials.
- Windows Firewall integration – During setup, Microsoft Security Essentials will now ask if you would like to turn the Windows Firewall on or off.
- Enhanced protection for web-based threats – Microsoft Security Essentials now integrates with Internet Explorer to provide protection against web-based threats.
- New protection engine – The updated anti-malware engine offers enhanced detection and cleanup capabilities with better performance.
Microsoft Security Essentials 2 is available immediately as a free download of MSE official homepage or Microsoft Download Center with 32-bit and 64-bit versions available for legitimate Windows users.
